We meet at an outdoor location chosen with you — your garden (if it’s large enough), a park, or a natural area close to home. A message arrives, a mission begins to take shape, and the group sets off on foot to explore the surroundings.

The birthday child and their friends don’t simply watch the adventure unfold. They play, search, create, move and make decisions that help drive the story forward.

Each experience is designed around the child’s age, interests and personality. This attention to each child reflects the same view of childhood that shapes our philosophy: creating an environment where everyone can take part, try things out and find their place.

Unicorns, pirates, dinosaurs, superheroes, princesses, mermaids, detectives, or a completely bespoke adventure: the chosen world becomes the guiding theme for the afternoon.

It’s never a fixed, one-size-fits-all programme applied to every group. The theme sets the direction, then we build a story around it, combining games, challenges, movement, creativity and discoveries tailored to the children taking part.

And if the world your child dreams of doesn’t exist yet, we can imagine it together.

Before the event, we talk with the family to understand what your child loves, the stories they enjoy telling, and how they would like to share this moment with their friends.

At a Hey Folks immersive birthday party, children aren’t just spectators. Every activity moves the story forward, and everyone can contribute in their own way.

Our team creates a lively pace without turning the experience into a competition. The goal isn’t to finish faster than everyone else, but to move a shared story forward in which every child can find their place.

What children remember after a birthday party isn’t just the decorations or the cake.

They remember the mysterious message they received at the start (our digital invitation is included in the base price), the challenge they thought was impossible, the idea they came up with together, the role they played, and the moment the whole story changed because of them.

It’s these little moments shared as a group that turn a celebration into a lasting memory.

The cake and presents then become an extension of the adventure, filled with laughter, stories and everything the children are already eager to tell.

A high-energy group, a quieter child, a garden or meadow made for running, a woodland setting that becomes the perfect backdrop for a mystery: every birthday has its own rhythm.

We prepare each experience with care, then adapt it to what actually happens on the day. An idea suggested by a child might open up a whole new direction. A challenge can be simplified, extended or transformed to keep the group engaged.

The weather, however, is not part of the story. As the birthday takes place entirely outdoors, we monitor the forecast in the days leading up to the event, call you, and decide together whether to go ahead or choose a new date.

It’s this flexibility that allows the experience to truly reflect the child at the heart of it.

After two hours of adventure, the story comes to an end and the group returns to the starting point. The children have completed their mission, solved the mystery, or made their way through the different stages created for them.

The final hour is then dedicated to cake, candles, presents and photos — outdoors, right where it all began. You take care of this part of the celebration, while the Hey Folks team stays with the group until 5 p.m.

The adventure doesn’t simply stop: it carries on around the table, through the stories, laughter and everything the children are already eager to share.

The cake, drinks, tableware and table decorations are organised by the family. The cake can also be ordered from one of the trusted partners we regularly work with.

Immersive birthday parties are available on Wednesdays and Sundays, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

We choose the location together. The first thing we look at isn’t the size of the space itself, but what surrounds it: woodland, a park, or a natural area that can be reached on foot with a group of young children.

The group sets off from there, experiences the story in the surrounding area, then returns to the same spot for cake time. You stay on site throughout the experience, without having to organise or lead any of the activities.

Each package includes:

• the creation of a world inspired by your child’s interests;
• scouting the location and route with you;
• two hours of outdoor games, challenges and creative activities, led by one or two Hey Folks activity leaders depending on the size of the group;
• all the equipment needed for the activities;
• one hour on site for cake, presents and support with the group.

The cake, drinks, tableware and decorations are provided by the family. If you wish, we can also arrange the cake through one of the trusted partners we regularly work with. The location and organisational details are agreed with you before the booking is fully confirmed.

Plan their immersive birthday adventure

1. What age is the immersive birthday party designed for?

It is designed primarily for children aged 4 to 6. Around the age of 6, the best format depends on your child’s independence and what they would enjoy most: the immersive birthday party brings the adventure to them, while the birthday adventure takes them out to experience it.

2. Which days and times are available?

Immersive birthday parties take place on Wednesdays and Sundays, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The first two hours are dedicated to the adventure, followed by one hour for cake, presents and photos.

3. How many children can take part?

Two packages are available: up to 10 children for CHF 450, or up to 14 children for CHF 650. The birthday child is included in this number.

4. Can we choose the theme?

Yes. Pirates, unicorns, dinosaurs, superheroes, princesses, mermaids, detectives and many other worlds are possible. The chosen theme becomes the starting point for an experience designed around your child.

5. Can you create a completely personalised world?

Yes. If your child has a very specific passion or an idea of their own, we can create a bespoke world and story together with you.

6. Where does the immersive birthday party take place?

At an outdoor location chosen with you — your garden, a park or a natural area close to home. We look at the surroundings and make sure the location is suitable for the group and the adventure before confirming the event.

7. Can the birthday party take place outdoors?

Yes. In fact, the immersive birthday party takes place entirely outdoors. We monitor the weather forecast in the days leading up to the event and contact you if conditions mean we need to decide together whether to go ahead or choose a new date.

8. What is the parents’ role?

The Hey Folks team leads the two-hour adventure and stays with the group during the final hour for cake and presents. You remain on site throughout the experience, but you do not need to organise or lead any of the activities.

9. Are the cake and decorations included?

No. The family provides the cake, drinks, tableware and table decorations. If you wish, we can also arrange the cake through one of the trusted partners we regularly work with. The final hour for cake, candles and presents is included in the package.

10. Who supervises the children?

The children are looked after by one or two members of the Hey Folks team, depending on the size of the group, with close attention to their safety, wellbeing and participation throughout the experience.

11. Can you accommodate an allergy or a particular need?

Yes, whenever this can be planned safely. Tell us about any allergies, health information or particular needs in the form and during our conversation before the event.

12. How do we book?

Complete the birthday form with your preferred date, your child’s age, the number of children, the location you have in mind and the world they dream of. We will then contact you to shape the experience together and confirm availability.

Every child grows at their own pace. Around the age of 6, both formats can be a good fit: the choice depends above all on their independence, what they enjoy and how they want to share the experience with their friends.

For children aged 4 to 6, the adventure takes place close to home: the group sets off on foot with the Hey Folks team for around two hours of exploration in the surrounding area, while you can simply wait for us to return. You then join us for the final part of the birthday celebration, dedicated to cake time.

Birthday adventure

From age 6 to 11, children meet the Hey Folks team at a designated starting point before heading off on a 4.5-hour adventure, in a small group and without their parents.
